Performance Driven

The CorkSport BSD Kit removes about 18lbs of weight from your engine. The simple weight reduction provides a small performance gain, but the much bigger gain comes from a decrease in rotating mass of the engine. By removing weight that your engine has to spin, it becomes easier for it to rev. This means a faster revving engine, easier rev matching, and even a few bonus horsepower.

Engine Protection

The oil pan baffle is supplied with this kit to provide some much-needed oil control to your Mazdaspeed. When driving aggressively, oil tends to move around in the pan which can starve the engine of oil in certain circumstances. Not enough oil getting to vital engine components is never a good thing. The CorkSport oil pan baffle prevents excessive oil movement and oil starvation in any driving situation. In addition, it acts as a windage tray to help prevent aerated oil and the poor lubrication that comes with it.

Design Focused

The oil block off plug was designed specifically for optimum sealing in mind. It fits precisely in the OE balance shaft’s oil supply passage and seals using a fluoroelastomer O-ring. This O-ring is safe with engine oil and can withstand temperatures of 400°F. The O-ring alone keeps the plug in place; however, it is locked down with a securing plate and bolt in one of the OE balance shaft’s mounting holes. It’s been proven to hold oil pressure on a Mazdaspeed3 making over 450WHP.

Materials and Manufacturing

All parts of the kit are made from laser cut and/or precision machined stainless steel. This allows for great strength and parts that will last the lifetime of your speed. Stainless has the added bonus of being more rigid than the aluminum used by other options on the market. This means we were able to use a 2.5mm thick O-ring for better oil sealing while using a low profile design for a cleaner look. The oil pan baffle benefits from stainless rivets and 0.060” thick sheet that is rigid enough prevent any vibration or rattles.
