The V4 GKTECH Super Lock S-chassis front drop knuckles have been developed with the learnings from our previous 3 versions of knuckles (of which over 400 sets have been sold) and we now present a light weight, sheet metal design after hundreds of hours of FEA (Finite Element Analysis) to improve the strength of the product but also keep the weight down. With circa 60 degrees of steering lock being able to be achieved with ease whilst keeping a linear steering response these knuckles are suited to drift or circuit racers.

- Spindle height raised 40mm's for roll center and bump steer correction

- Circa 70 degrees of steering lock

- Lightweight (S13 version is 3.1kg and S14/S15 is 3.15kg)

- S13 and S14/S15 specific versions

- Linear steering response for optimal drive

Vehicle Compatibility:

- Nissan 180sx

- Nissan S13 Silvia

- Nissan S14 Silvia/200sx

- Nissan S15 Silvia/200sx

- Nissan Cefiro A31

NOTE: Our offset steering rack extenders offer an additional 19mm's of steering rack travel and help to avoid steering bind. They are required to get maximum steering lock and as such, are recommended.

NOTE#2: Steering lock of 60 degrees quoted is based on having wheel clearance. If you have high offset wheels and your wheel hits the chassis then you may get less than this amount of steering lock.

NOTE#3: Will not work with some brake caliper adapter kits.

NOTE#4: Does NOT have a provision for ABS

Best suited to be used with our Super Lock LCA's which can be seen here

FAQ'S

Will this fit my car?

We can only confirm fitment for the vehicles listed above under "vehicle compatibility". If your car is not listed there, then we don't know if it will fit.

Do you make these to suit other cars?

We only sell the parts listed on our website. If it's not listed on our website, then we don't sell it. Sorry.

However, we do sell R-chassis knuckles which can be seen here: https://au.gktech.com/r-chassis-r32-r33-r34-front-super-lock-knuckles

What's the advantage of using the GKTech V4 front drop knuckles?

Alot of people think that the best thing about knuckles (aka uprights) is getting more steering angle to drift however the main advantage of installing knuckles is the roll center correction and bump steer correction. Extremely lowered vehicles typically handle poorly, with drop knuckles like these installed the handling will improve dramatically as your lower control arm and castor (aka tension) rods are sitting near horizontally which brings them back to where they were befor the car was lowered, which is exactly what you want.

What modifications are required, is this hard to fit?

No modifications are required, simply just remove and refit.

However if you notch your lower control arms or atleast modify the bump stops will help get more from the knuckles. Rack spacers are also recommended or alternatively longer tie rods or some of our tie rod ends which are adjustable in length. To get the absolute most out of these knuckles our Super Lock LCA's, our offset rack spacers (or rack relocated using bolt on rack spacers) and appropriately sized wheels are required.

You will also need to re-adjust your coilover height due to the 40mm drop incorperated into the knuckle.

Is there anything else needed for installation?

No, you will need to use your OEM wheel bearing. However, in terms of the knuckles themselves they will arrive as shown in the product photo.

Can I install this myself? If so how long will installation take?

Yes, provided you have general mechanical knowledge as they are relitively straightforward. Installation time should be around 30 minutes. However, being a suspension component we recommend only a trained professional to install this product.

Do these lower the cars height?

Yes, around 40mm, you will simply need to re-adjust the height of your coilover and it will counteract the height difference.

Will I have to get a wheel alignment after installing these?

Yes, as the ride height and toe have been altered, we strongly recommend a wheel alignment after any suspension changes.

How much angle can I get from these knuckles?

Depending on the width and offset of your rims, and whether you're running standard lower control arms or notched/modified lower control arms (or standard) you will see between 50 degrees - 60 degrees of steering lock. With the use of our Super Lock LCA's combined with appropriately sized wheels you will see 60 degrees of lock.

I sometimes do circuit/grip racing as well as drifting, are these suitable?

Yes, absolutely. You have the aditional lock for drifting as well as the weight saving, roll center and bump steer correction which is great for additional front end grip which can definately be used for all drift/circuit and grip racing setups.

We do make grip specific knuckles, which can be seen here: https://au.gktech.com/grip-s-chassis-front-drop-knuckles
