Vauxhall VXR8

This is a type of car that seems to get pushed to one side in favour of small engines with forced induction.

But all petrol heads love big blocks!!! :)

In the VXR8 there is not much bigger than the fantastic 6.2 V8 LS3 engine.

This is how we recieved the VXR8. Luckily it was de-badged before we got it, if not then that would have been our first job!

First job get its serviced. So off to Wilkinshaw Performance.

Next job for the VXR8 it needs VIP Branding!!!

Full Company name along the sill and website address and V-I-P logo in the 1/4 window.

On the rear the website address is under the rear number plate and a smaller V-I-P logo is opposite the VXR8 in matching red to finish it off

One thing wrong with this car is it did not sound as you would expect a 6.2 V8 to sound, it was too quiet!

So the first main job was to sort the air induction out

As you can see after the throttle body there is a large restrictor before the air filter box. This needs removing.

We removed the restrictor and put a custom 4inch pipe on instead, so this gives the engine easier air flow.

The air box has now been adapted to look factory standard but the induction pipe travels through it and then downwards to the lower air intake and a large K&N filter is used for filtration

V-I-P are now able to custom make switchable exhausts. This give you the option of having the best of both worlds. You can have a quieter, more civilised exhaust on long motorway trips and then with the flick of a switch it can change to a track legal one and as loud as possible! We can offer this or anywhere inbetween. Please contact us for details, videos are to follow - you really will be amazed at the difference it can make.....

This switchable exhaust is now fitted to the VXR8 please come and hear the difference.

At the same time as fitting the exhaust switch or cut out we custom made some new tail pipes as the standard ones looked to same for the vehicle

This car is now looking amazing and we are really pleased with the results.... but there is always something we can do to improve it further, so keep checking back for what we do next! :)
