Turbosmart All New Boost Tee Manual Boost
Controller (Blue) TS-0101-1101
The All-New Boost Tee by Turbosmart is a facelift on the
tried and tested Boost Tee you’ve come to love. Now featuring a 33% smaller and
more ergonomic design, the All-New Boost Tee incorporates all the functionality
that makes it a crowd favourite, including our unique Gate Feature for maximum
boost response, anti-tamper locking feature and easy use.
The Boost Tee is a pneumatic bleed valve that allows an
increase in boost on turbocharger systems where boost-based actuators are used
and are suitable for internal and external wastegate systems. By manipulating
the reference signal to an internal wastegate actuator or external wastegate,
an increase in boost over and above the base spring pressure can be achieved.
It is common to reach 100 – 200% increases in boost over the base spring
pressure.
Using our proven detent system, the controller can increase
the boost in defined steps, and the locking mechanism allows the boost level to
be set & secure from tampering.
Manufactured in Australia from High-Grade Brass and Billet
Aluminum, the All-New Boost Tee by Turbosmart is a simple, elegant and robust
solution that can be relied on for simple boost control & maximum response.
The All-New Boost Tee by Turbosmart is the best value upgrade for your

What’s the first rule of boost control?
Ensure you have an over-boost cut-out. This safety feature
is built into all factory, aftermarket & programmable ECUs. Make sure it is
set at a sensible & reasonable limit. Increasing the boost will put more
load on your engine, and there is another tune-related factory you must always
consider. If in any doubt, speak with a professional tuner/calibrator.
Can I use this on any turbocharged engine?
If your engine is turbocharged and uses a boost-based
actuator for wastegate flap style control, then yes. This Boost Controller will
work on boost-based internal wastegate actuators and external wastegates. It
will not work for VGT (Variable Geometry) Turbochargers, also known as VVT
(Variable Vein) and VNT (Variable Nozzle) Turbochargers.
How much boost can I add?
This will come down to the rest of your setup & tune.
If in any doubt, we recommend you contact a professional tuner or workshop for
advice here.
What is Gate Feature?
Gate Feature is a unique Turbosmart feature that ensures
our boost controllers can give you the best possible response. Turbosmart’s
Boost Controllers can provide the most aggressive boost curve by manipulating
the pressure signal into your actuator.
Can the ‘Gate Feature’ be disabled?
Yes. Looking at the technical drawings available online,
you will see the ‘Gate Ball’ and ‘Gate Spring’ behind the inlet nipple.
Removing the nipple and re-assembling the Boost-Tee without the Gate Ball &
Spring will provide you with the same type of control you expect from
Turbosmart without the gate feature enabled.
Is the arrow important?
Yes. If you’re having issues with boost control, please
take a minute and check your connection method and ensure the hoses are routed
correctly – Take note of the arrow on the boost-Tee.
Can I turn my boost down?
Using a correctly installed Turbosmart Boost-Tee, you can
adjust boost from around your base mechanical spring pressure (in your
wastegate or actuator) up to usually around 2-3 times the base pressure.
However, you cannot use these devices to turn the boost down lower than the
base spring pressure.
Is one click one PSI?
No! Either way, one click is relative to your engine and
turbo. The more efficient it is, the fewer clicks you need to achieve more
boost. However, as the boost rises, efficiency decreases. This means you’ll
need to work harder (more clicks) for more boosts at higher levels.
